2021 Lexus RC F

History/Overview

The Lexus RC F is a high-performance version of the brand’s compact coupe model, the RC. Lexus launched the RC line in 2015; since then, it has received updates but no fundamental changes.

What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year

For 2021, every RC F comes standard with navigation as part of a package that includes connected car services.

The infotainment system also newly supports the Android Auto integration platform.

Available Trims

Lexus offers the RC F in base, Performance and Track Edition packages. All use a 5.0L V8 engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Standard Features

Among the RC F’s standard equipment are radar cruise control, automatic high beams, forward collision warning with automatic braking, lane departure alert with steering assist, passive keyless entry, power/heated side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, 19-inch wheels, retractable rear spoiler, a limited slip differential, and LED headlights and taillights.

Inside, there’s a 10-speaker stereo, navigation in a 10.3-inch infotainment screen, a heated steering wheel, power-adjustable front seats with heat/ventilation, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a digital gauge display, LED ambient lighting, and a sunroof.

Performance trim adds a power-adjustable steering column, front parking sensors, a 17-speaker stereo, a carbon fibre roof (which deletes the sunroof), intuitive parking assist, and a torque-vectoring differential.

The Track package builds on the base model with the carbon fibre roof, red carbon fibre trim, a fixed rear spoiler, ultra-light wheels, carbon ceramic brakes, a titanium muffler, red Alcantara interior trim, and special body aero add-ons. It also deletes the heated/ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, and power steering wheel adjustments.

Lexus’s fuel consumption estimates for the RC F are 14.4/9.6 L/100 km (city/highway).

Competition

The RC F is Lexus’s attempt to compete with some of Europe’s sportiest cars, like the BMW M4, Audi’s RS 5, the Mercedes-AMG C 63, and Alfa Romeo’s Giulia Quadrifoglio.
